TAKE A LOOK at the spinning girl. Tell me which way she seems to spin: clockwise or anticlockwise?
Personally I think this is ridiculous. She's OBVIOUSLY spinning in a clockwise direction. Otherwise you must really have something wrong with your brain.
ANYWAY... point being, if you see her turning clockwise, like I do, you're supposedly right-brain dominant. Which means you're all intuitive and superior.
If you see her turning counterclockwise, your left brain is in charge. The left brain controls language, logic and all the things you need not to be a moron.
According to the test on my sidebar, I'm evenly matched between right and left hemisphere dominance.
Which is just as well. The right brain might be oh-so-superior to the prosaic left... but without left-brain functions like language, to explain your radical right-brain insights, where are you now??!
ANYWAY, YOUR ANSWERS PLEASE. I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU SEE THE GIRL SPINNING. I'D ESPECIALLY LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO CLAIMS TO SEE HER TURNING THE WRONG WAY!!
The trouble is I forgot how the clock turns, I think the Tunisian sun has damaged my brain !
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know what I am because it kept switching directions on me - I think it has to do with which eye is dominant. My right eye is dominant for distance and my left for close up. The computer is in the mid-range so my eyes switch off. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteOh Gattina you can give a better answer than that!
ReplyDeleteJeannie: I did see it starting to look weird at the beginning. As if I couldn't see what direction it was turning. But thereafter it most definitely turns clockwise. To me anyhow!
anti clockwise for me
ReplyDeleteAt last!! Someone who sees it turning the wrong way!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny, I am sure I saw it turning anti clockwise (when seen from the top) and after reading some more of your text, I looked at the girl and she was turning clockwise. What does that mean? Both my sides are functioning or am I under the category "all confused"
ReplyDeleteIt was so clearly clockwise at the start . . . to the extent that I couldn't imagine how anyone could see her tuning anti-clockwise . . . Until I was reading your text next to it (where the left brain would come into action - reading) and suddenly it was most definitely anti-clockwise. Now, I can't get her to turn clockwise again . . . I'll look again after this.
ReplyDeleteHow bizarre.
I had same experience as burgerlugs. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteBoth ways for me too !
ReplyDeleteI've tried and tried to see her spinning anticlockwise (as seen from top down) but I can't can't do it. !!1~!!!!
ReplyDeleteOK I get the illusion: I can manage to see her turn a semicircle at the top (counterclockwise) and then turn that semicircle back again, still at the top (now turning back on herself: clockwise). What I cannot see is her turning counterclockwise the entire way.
ReplyDeleteClockwise.
ReplyDeleteon your logic - I'm a moron....
ReplyDeleteShame you couldn't help me out in London. Real shame. Too late now. Oh well. Back in Sydney. Still, shame. Shame.
ReplyDeleteMark R
Akelamalu: aha!!
ReplyDeleteFurtheron: I said you need the L brain NOT to be a moron...
Mark: you're back already? I would have missed you in the blink of an eye ... well I did
That's cool! Thanks for posting it. I'm on break before work and that was really fun and took my mind off work.
ReplyDeleteShay which way round did you see it spin??
ReplyDeletecounter clockwise but it took me a minute to remember which way the clock ticked. So much for logic LOL
ReplyDeleteI can manage to see it spinning anticlockwise at the top half of the circle.
ReplyDeleteBut then it reverses to spin clockwise back on itself.
If I make no special effort, it just spins clockwise all the way...
She looks like she is spinning towards the right.
ReplyDeletethis has nothing to do with the girl but while I was looking I got a wiff of southern fried chicken.my favorite chicken place shut down.but my market makes it good to and they sampled it out the otherday.I got 3 pieces free.Delish!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the spinning sparked a state-dependent memory. That's posh language for one thing reminding you of another and a hidden memory becoming unlocked...
ReplyDeleteHang on a minute Bev you still haven't said whether that's clockwise or anticlockwise as clockwise will spin to the right at the top half of the circle and to the left at the bottom half; counterclockwise will spin to the left at the top and to the right at the bottom.
If she's ONLY spinning to the right, then she'd look like she was doubling back on herself...
??
!
Only clockwise. I know that I'm intuitive--sometimes to the point of being scary about it.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I'm an intuitive person... a lot of times in the past I used to override my intuition with logic... probably to my detriment...
ReplyDeleteWhat does it mean if it switched from clockwise to counterclockwise?
ReplyDeleteIt turns clockwise when I'm not wearing reading glasses and anti-clockwise when I am, figure that?
