Our Awesome Cosmos

I HAVE NEVER FELT further away from God than I do now.

Watching this, the vastness and the glory of things I could never understand, I try ~ and yet I can barely conceive of the Mind who stretches from these vast distances into infinity.

And I wonder, who am I in the scheme of things.

And will I ever be remembered?

BARBER'S ADAGIO FOR STRINGS
sung by the choir of Trinity College, Cambridge

If you want to see what originally put me in the "cosmic" mood, it was the Carl Sagan short film You are Here (Pale Blue Dot) from the bottom of yesterday's post...

  3. I feel like that at the moment too . . . Like I'm not connected to anything, not even my actual self. Possibly, least of all myself.
I can't reach my feelings, the feelings that enabled me to get some clean time earlier in the year . . . I know they're there and I can voice them, but I can't feel them or connect to them. Out of reach, disconnected. I keep hoping and praying that one day I will wake up re-connected to the fighter within . . . I hope and pray that you will too.
I want to feel some desire to live what's left of my life. Really live and feel alive . . . But first I need to fight and I feel battle weary.
Maybe 8 hours sleep will help, Goodnight, with love x

  7. I've got the video back. Blogger KEEPS LOSING VIDEOS I EMBED IN MY BLOG it happens every week and really pisses me off I shouldn't have to check they're still there. Bloody computers.

BEV: dinosaurs aren't mentioned in the Bible but that doesn't mean they weren't created. I've even heard a theory that the Devil created dinosaurs and when God came down and saw how horrible the earth had become with Satan's creations eating one another he scrapped it, started again and created man.

I cannot see stars in London. Aparently no stars at all are visible in this city.

I have seen an eclipse of the moon in Goa and that was beautiful. I saw another in London and that wasn't bad either. Eclipses of the moon are far more exciting, in my view, than solar ones...

  8. OH MY GOD I worry all the time about being remembered after I die or not contributing anything to human-kind. I guess I've left a lasting finger print on the Internet, but where will all that information go in 50 years? Nobody is going to read about a persons life who died 50+ years ago? What will happen to all the photos I've posted online?
