Been too darn hot here Gleds - haven't heard or seen any baby "Reds" or Gallahs so far and just the odd rasping "feed me" from one or two baby rainbow lorikeets high in the trees. I think the feathered ones are being wise and holding off laying eggs until this heat breaks. Plus we haven't had any good rainfall so the insects haven't been around for the birds to feed on either. The bird baths are getting very busy - even found a water dragon lizard laid out in one of the shallower baths which the smaller birds prefer bathing in... hot for lizards too*!*
Mother Crack Pot got a good appetite. I love watching eagles and hawks gliding. You picked the most beautiful birds. I will add owls to.Snowy owls are my favorite but they all have sparkly yellow big eyes.butter toastkissesXo
MOTHER CRACKPOT: blue tits are said to be nice. Not very meaty though.
BIMBIMBIE: Hey I looked for baby Red King parrots for sale in London but they don't seem to have any... I know it's not very fair trapping them in the wild and I wouldn't want a wild-caught one anyway... Parrots (in the wider sense, including lovebirds and budgies) are the only birds I'd consider keeping as pets. They're relatively calm, and don't normally go nuts when you approach the cage....
BEVERLY: o yeah I missed out owls. Have to include 'em next time...
O hello my dear. I was just wondering, are any of those birds fit for human consumption?
