Pancake Politics

THIS is how methadone makes me feel: flat as a pancake. I woke at 4am cold and hot at the same time. Nikki Bedi's kindly voice was soothing, but not as soothing as the methadone I drank to take the fever away.

I've just been in Sainsbury's and blown £20 on two bags of shopping. Most of it was pasta. I thought pasta was meant to be cheap...? Poverty food and all that.

Our useless government has successfully swept media attention this morning away from tax loopholes for the rich (there was a massive hoo-har last week about comedian Jimmy Carr paying taxes of 1% on £3 million plus earnings (good for him!))

Now they're threatening to cut off Housing Benefit from the under 25s. meaning, in the worst cases, that the young sick and unemployed who happen not to live in the same town as their parents (if their parents will even take them in ~ I don't think my mother would) will end up homeless on the streets. Just like I did.

My biggest fear as a sick twentysomething not on drugs living miles from my family was homelessness. And when I was on drugs and still sick that fear became truth. It didn't bother me as much as you might think, as I figured homelessness was all I deserved.

I only have a place to live now by hook and by crook. I don't feel I deserve it at all. I have long known the government's agenda was to put me homelss and destitute back on the streets. You can take that to be paranoia: think what you like. And before any of you assume this is just a left-wing sour grapes manifesto: consider this ~ if I were tied down and forced to vote (which I never would do voluntarily) I would vote Conservative over Labour any day. The reason? Low taxes for the rich. Apart from multicoloured streetlights, world-beating skyscrapers and fast trains, the death penalty and automatic heroin prescription for the addicted, that is the only political view I hold!

So now I'm off back home with a suitcase full of fresh and dry pasta, baked beans, bread and lemonade. I hope the electricity (which I now pay) doesn't give out before I do...

No I dint mean Curly Watts! his name is Norman in the show, not in real life . . . he's either in Corro or Eastenders, I can picture him but don't know which show he's in . . . you said ages ago that you looked like him, I'll find him and post a picture on my blog. I don't know what became of him. . . . But I'm sure you must look like him.
Good stuff on buying plenty of food . . . at least that's £20 well spent ;-) And I find, I feel better if I eat well. Simple really.
Cameron is just going too far (IMO). Take care, with love x

O man HIM!!!!!

Yeah on a bad day. A really bad day.

Or if I were suddenly 60 years old.

He could be my older OLDER brother... or someone.

Bloody hell until I pressed that link I had forgotten who the hell was even WAS ha ha harrr!!!!!

In a way I look more like Curly Watts... at least Curly Watts is younger... (+ an alcoholic hmmmmmmmmm......)

Hey Buggerlugz you never said a word about my intellectual political views. Rainbow streetlights are surely a priority..? As are the world's tallest buildings and fastest trains... what do you think..??

BUGERLUGS YOUR BLOG WILL NOT LET ME COMMENT AT ALL!

I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ONE-PAGE BLOG POST AND COMMENTS PAGE, I'VE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THAT... BUT WHATEVER IT WILL NOT LET ME COMMENT PLEASE ALTER IT. AND HOW COME EVERYBODY ELSE GETS THROUGH?? THIS IS TERRIBLE... i WANTED TO SAY...

Bloody hell, you've done a lot...

Who the hell do the Tories/Labour/Lib Dems think they are SHUTTING DOWN STONEHENGE... That's like shutting down St Pauls and Westminster Abbey to the Pagans and Stonehenge is Just As Pagan as St Pauls and W'minster Abbey... well far more so.. at least it is what it is... not an impostor pretending to be Christian when it does in fact represent millennia of Pagan Activity... Know what I mean.

BTW do you follow any religion? I used to be Neo-Pagan. Until I switched back to Christian... yet again ha ha haaa :-)

So you are pro death penalty. I would have never guessed. I love multicolored street lights. Fast trains also a brilliant, here in the states particulary Green Bay Wisconsin, all the way down to Chicago Illinois, and from there to the Easy coast NYC, and then straight down the coast to the bottem of florida. Now I'm thinking ambitiously, a fast train across the south over to southern California, up the West coast to Washington state and through the middle Northern states. All around USA.

So burg thinks you look like that older guy huh. At least he's not down right ugly. I guess he's average. I'm average too, even a tiny bit below average. Such is live. Make the best of it.

I hate to admit this, but I've become quit jealous of Bugerlugs. Both in the relationship you two have formed, also because her blog is 100 times better than mine. Both in content and grammar, sentence structure, style, technique, damn it, everything. Plus she and yourself answer all your comments. Now that I'm on the Adderal I will be better about answering comments. Also because it's much easier to write on this phone compared to my old Black Berry.

I answered your question about my adderal script. I'll do it again just incase you missed it. I will be posting it on my blog more in depth than the answer I wrote in the comment section of one of your older posts.

Thast's telling 'em, Gleds! I am horrified every time I hear about this government's plans.

My 16 year old daughter went nuts last night when that one came up on the news - I mean total meltdown nuts - I sat there thinking - I was just the same as the Thatcher Tories bulldozed away the first part of the welfare state... same old same old...

btw - on the Carr tax thing - he has not broken any law. Therefore where is the moral argument shit from? This is tax not bloody philosophy... it is not illegal to sleep about but you could argue immoral if (note the if) you are in a relationship that another believes is exclusive or are harming others through your actions....

So I'm sure he wanted the outrage to be - if Mr Carr paid his taxes we'd not be doing these cuts! Unbelievable!

Oh yes - the PMs Dad left an estate of £2.4m, he ran an offshore hedge fund for years. However his declared income never exceeded £12,000 - how'd you get from £12,000 a year to £2.4m.... hmmm... hypocrite that is three syllables hy-po-crite... got that?

Sorry I'll shut up now :-)

Anna Grace: yeah I'm pro death penalty because I think it's kinder to kill people off than keep them all their lives in prison.

I don't get what this adderall does. Is it anything therapeutic? The only effective medication I ever found for me was heroin. When I'm depressed it makes me less depressed. When I've been manic it made my brain considerably less scattered so that my attention span came back for a while... But Adderall is dexamphetamine, an upper... they do say uppers focus the mind in ADHD... does crack do the same thing for you then?..? I'm looking for the adderall answer as we speak...

Welshcakes: I don't think my political views are very cogent. Then again the Tories' are even less cogent than mine so what am I worried about..?

Furtheron: I just don't understand the vast cross-section of the public who seem to believe Jimmy Carr did something morally wrong! There's nothing immoral about paying as little or as much tax as you can get away with. Even Jesus, while saying "give unto Cesar what is Cesar's" magicked a penny for the poll tax out of the mouth of a fish!

These comments haven't got the reply option underneath each one??
Anyway, I'll reply here.
Absolutely, multi-coloured street lights are a priority.
I've just had a letter from the council, we (council tenants) have to declare if we have any spare bedrooms; if we do, then we will lose a percentage of housing benfit for having a house that is too big. In other words, as soon as my kids grow up and leave home . . they will kick me out of the house I have lived in for 20-30 years and stick us in a warden controlled "flat" . . . Perish the thought.
Cameron is targetting the under-class, in every possible way. I worry about what he might do next . . .
I don't follow any religion . . . I believe in God, I pray and I feel better when I feel a connection with God ;-) To me God represents all that is good . . . and the closer I try to stay to that, the better I feel. I keep it simple. I totally try to live by "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" . . . And judge not, less you be judged . . . If we could all stick to those two laws, well, how good would that be?
I can't work out why you can't comment on my blog . . . I don't even know what to check, as other folk are commenting ok . . . try again. What can I alter on it? it's set so that anons can comment . . . I'm not sure what I can do.
Hope all is well x

Bev: the baked beans are OK PROVIDED they're drenched in Worcester Sauce and black pepper... THEN they're fine. But I tried eating them the other day without either (out of necessity, as I managed to leave the Lea & Perrins and the pepper behind when moving) and they were HORRIBLE. And these were really expensive Heinz we're talking about here...

Bugerlugs: I don't understand what the reply function is?... You have to reply at the end. I'm a bit wary about changing my comments round after what happened to everybody else's. I can't comment!!! Not just yours. Bev's do it. Anna Grace's did until v recently... I use a pop-up window so any youtube screens playing keep going while you comment ~ whizzy you see ~~~~

I'm not sure Cameron's more drastic reforms will get through. Bearing in mind this is a coalition, and the government in power almost inevitably loses seats in each subsequent election until they're eventually kicked out, I don't think he'll stand much of a chance...

Did you ever have Howard Johnsons over there? They made the bestest baked beans an franks they sold them in the market even after they went out of busness.
